How to make investments
A SIPP puts you in control of where and how you invest with the Plan offering you an extensive range of investments allowable within the Terms and Conditions. You choose how hands-on you want to be with your investments.
There are four main types of investment strategy you can follow:
Execution only dealing
This is when you decide where to invest.
You give your instructions to the Capita SIP Services Dealing Desk who will then carry out the appropriate transactions. If you want to invest in equities, you can use our default stockbroker or custodian or appoint your own, who we can then instruct to carry out your trades.
Financial Adviser
You may also choose to take advice from an independent financial adviser who has appropriate authorisation to provide investment advice, to make investment decisions on your behalf.
Advisory investment
You can appoint an investment manager to advise you on your investments before you give instructions to us. Where appropriate, we will then carry out the instruction through your chosen investment manager. The investment manager will not carry out transactions unless they have your approval to do so.
Discretionary investment
You may prefer to appoint an investment manager to make investment decisions for you, based on your general investment aims and objectives. Your fund, including any future contributions, will be passed to your investment manager and they will carry out the investment transactions they consider appropriate for you without requiring your specific approval.
The choice of investment manager is in your full control. You agree the fees for their services and these can be paid by deduction from your fund. You can change your investment manager at any time. Any investment manager that you do appoint must be authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Please note: Capita SIP Services does not act as investment manager to the Plan, or accept any liability for the performance or choice of any investment manager. |
